JG Thirlwell will be ringing in the new decade DJ-ing on New Years Eve with the exciting and raucous avant-garage band Golden Triangle at Glasslands Gallery in Brooklyn. Also on the bill will be Electric Tickle Machine, DJ Arthur Arbit and special guests. Doors are at 9, admission is $10.
JG Thirlwell is a composer, producer, recording artist, and performer, based in Brooklyn NY. With a extensive body of work that spans over 25 years, Thirlwell has performed under such aliases as Foetus (all incarnations), Steroid Maximus, Manorexia, Baby Zizanie, Wiseblood, DJ OTEFSU, Garage Monsters, Flesh Volcano, Immaculate Consumptive, and Clint Ruin. In addition, Thirlwell has produced, mixed and/or performed on vast quantities of recordings including many of the releases on Lydia Lunch's Widowspeak label and artists as diverse as The The, Pantera, Nine Inch Nails, White Zombie, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Coil, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arto Lindsay, Marc Almond, Swans and countless others. Today, Thirlwell continues to release new records and currently serves as the soundtrack composer for The Venture Brothers on Cartoon Network.
Any chance that the live appearances can be posted with more advance notice…? The last three were posted on the same day they occurred…I guess there’s a mailing list or something, but if you’re not a subscriber, you miss out.
They are posted in advance. Once an event is over, the date of the post gets revised to reflect the date of the event so that the event can be recorded accurately to the Detailed Timeline. Additionally, at the time of publishing, posts are simultaneously streamed to facebook and where appropriate, to other satellite sites such as myspace/foetus, myspace/manorexia etc. There is also an events section of foetus.org which often features performance dates in advance.
